Contractor Registration law

Contractor Registration took effect January 1, 2006. All individuals performing work as defined in the law must register with the Department of Consumer Affairs.

A156- Provides that PERS members holding more then one position covered by PERS has to designate one position as the basis for enrollment. Last session # A119 and S718.

A157- Establishes Defined Contribution Public Employees Retirement Program. State Government. Last session # A120.

A256-Changes compensation trigger for reenrollment of PERS retiree from $15,000. in aggregate to $15,000. per public emploer. State Government. Last session # A160.

A1011-Directs Commissioner of Community Affairs to promulgate certain fire safety regulations concerning furnishings purchased by public and independent institutions of higher education. Housing and Local Government. Last session # A1945

A1351- Requires training program for and recognizes position of Technical Assistant to Construction Official. Housing and Local Government. Last session #A2720.

A1695- Establishes municipal authority to discipline and terminate employment of Construction Code Officials. Housing and Local Government. Last session # A670 and S149
